Silver-Gilt Medal at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show

We were so pleased to get a Silver-Gilt medal for our 7.2m x 3.3m stand in the floral marquee at Hampton Court during the second week in July. The positive response from the public and the media was fantastic too. Here are a few shots of our stand in case you didn't get to the show:

Medal winners at Chelsea just 5 yrs after we opened Todd's Botanics!

We were so relieved to see a medal on our stand when we arrived at the show on Tuesday 19th May. We tried not to be disappointed that it was bronze in colour! The journey to our first Chelsea has been a bit of a roller coaster ride but we felt so proud to be there with a stand that the whole team at Todd's Botanics can feel really proud of.

We were really pleased with the 6 minute feature on the BBC Chelsea coverage on Wednesday 20th May (episode 8). Mark was then featured again on the lunch time programme on Friday 21st May (episode 11). Click on the link at the top of this page to watch it again now.

We were really pleased to receive a silver medal at RHS Cardiff (17-19 April) for our stand in the floral marquee, and a bronze medal at Gardeners' World Live at the NEC, Birmingham in June.

Shows 2009

We are attending more shows than ever this year - including the Floral Pavilion at Chelsea during 3rd week in May which we are really excited about!

RHS Cardiff 17-19 April Floral Marquee

Grand Designs LIVE, Excel, London 25 April - 4 May

RHS Chelsea Flower Show 19-23 May Floral Pavilion (Stand no. GPC5)

BBC Gardeners' World Live 10-14 June Floral Marquee

Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 7-12 July Floral Marquee

Silver medal at Hampton Court 2008 - with just 7 days notice we were asked to attend!

We were asked to attend the floral marquee at Hampton Court last year at just seven days notice when another nursery had cancelled - so you can imagine how relieved we were to get a silver medal for our efforts! Although we had attended RHS shows before it was our first appearance in a RHS floral marquee. Below are a few pictures of the stand that we managed to put together with just 7 days notice.

Mark's radio interview, January 2009

We are really looking forward to a great new season. We have had a bitterly cold winter but here at the nursery plants are being potted and seedlings are already coming through. Whilst we have been closed for January we have been busy erecting a new polytunnel and a dedicated shade house to protect our beautiful bamboo from too much sun exposure in high summer.

Mark was interviewed on BBC Essex's Ken Crowther's show on Saturday 10th January. You can read a summary of the interview and listen again if you follow this link:

We are really excited that our application to appear in the Floral Pavillion at Chelsea 2009 has been successful, as well as entry to the floral marquees at both Hampton Court and Gardeners' World. It is the third time we have applied for the pavilion at Chelsea so we are really pleased to have been accepted. We were offered a stand in the marquee at Hampton Court 2008 with just seven days notice and were chuffed to receive a silver medal for our display.

Come and see the Irises in Bloom during May-Jun

We now stock over 20 varieties of bearded irises ranging in colour from white with green spots through to as near black as an iris gets. These really are beautiful and the ultimate drought tolerant plant which thrives on lots of sun and not much attention at all. They will be wafting their scent around the nursery from the end of April and during May so do come and see them then. You can be sure we'll see them in the best show gardens at Chelsea again this year.

New Stock- Spring 2009

Well the new stock has started to arrive and we spent yesterday unloading some cracking palms, olives and other exciting new plants.

It doesn't stop here though - over the next few weeks we will be unloading lots more stock including some monster olives that tower 20 feet tall with cracking trunks and bough structures. As ever, all our stock is hand picked by us, right down to our smallest shrub so you can be sure that we will always choose the best.

Expanded Range of Succulents

We now stock so many succulents that we decided they deserve a section of their own in our newly updated online plant catalogue. The range includes lots of agaves, as well as hardy aloes, opuntia and yucca amongst other beauties. We have had lots of interest in them so click on the link below to see our full range of plants available.

Planting Service

Don't forget that we not only deliver to your door (or garden!) but we also offer a full planting service using all our own machinery and lifting equipment.

Newly planted Olive GroveFruiting Olives

This spring here at the nursery we have planted 2 acres (around 250 trees) of named variety olives which we plan to farm commercially once they are fruiting well in a few years time. We have selected the varieties for their suitability for cropping an early yield ideally suited to our short British summers. We believe this is the largest olive plantation in the country.  If you'd like to plant your own productive olive grove we now offer the same named varieties for sale to our customers.
