Shows 2008

Once again we will kick off our show season at Grand Designs Live at London's Excel. This year the show is going to be huge and runs from 3rd-11th May with regular Channel 4 programmes from the show. We will showcase our best plants and also our hardwood planter range so do get along and see us there if you can.

New Stock March 2008

Well the new stock has started to arrive and we spent yesterday unloading some cracking palms, olives and other exciting new plants.

It doesn't stop here though - over the next few weeks we will be unloading lots more stock including some monster olives that tower 20 feet tall with cracking trunks and bough structures. As ever, all our stock is hand picked by us, right down to our smallest oleander so you can be sure that we will always choose the best.

The early Easter was quite unkind to us with howling wind and snow, but here we are just a few days later and spring feels like it is back on track. Everything is really waking up again - the perennials are shooting nicely with the promise of lots of colour in a few weeks time and the tree fern croziers are unfurling - always a sight to behold.

Olives New Range March 2008

Over the next few weeks we will be extending our range of olives to include plants from £5 to £5000. We really to remain the market leader in olive trees so you can be sure you'll see the best range of trees here at Todd's Botanics.

Expanded Range of Succulents March 2008

We now stock so many succulents that we decided they deserve a section of their own in our newly updated online plant catalogue. The range includes lots of agaves, as well as hardy aloes, opuntia and yucca amongst other beauties. We have had lots of interest in them so click on the link above or also now from our home page to see our full range of plants available.

Planting Service

Don't forget that we not only deliver to your door (or garden!) but we also offer a full planting service using all our own machinery and lifting equipment.

Come and see the Irises in Bloom May 2008

We now stock over 20 varieties of bearded irises ranging in colour from white with green spots through to as near black as an iris gets. These really are beautiful and the ultimate drought tolerant plant which thrives on not much attention at all. They will be wafting their scent around the nursery from the end of April and during May so do come and see them then. You can be sure we'll see them in the best show gardens at Chelsea again this year.

Newly planted Olive GroveFruiting Olives
This spring here at the nursery we have planted 2 acres (around 250 trees) of named variety olives which we plan to farm commercially once they are fruiting well in a few years time. We have selected the varieties for their suitability for cropping an early yield ˆ ideally suited to our short British summers. We believe this is the largest olive plantation in the country.  If you'd like to plant your own productive olive grove we now offer the same named varieties for sale to our customers.

Fresh stock of OlivesGnarled Olive
This season we have some cracking olives in a range of sizes. To get you started we have some lovely standard trees on special offer - priced at £25 each or 2 for £40 - perfect for a doorway. We also have some great taller standards which are a bargain at £65 each. Then in our larger sizes we have some lovely old beasts with gnarled trunks (see right image) and fairly small pots so if you have a narrow gate into your garden these should be ideal for you. We have very reasonable delivery rates and can offer a planting service for our larger trees - please call us for a quotation on 01376 561212
