An aptly named Dahlia, indeed its colour is identical to the jackets of the Grenadier Guards, a beautiful double bloom that keeps its colour well as it matures. The dark foliage sets off the flowers to make a stunning display.
Plant in full sun and a hummus rich soil, dahlia love lots of food and water during the growing season. They will continue to flower from mid-June until the first frosts. Lift the tubers after the first frosts and over-winter frost free OR leave in situ and mulch well. (mark where you have planted them!)
Grenadier reaches 1M in height.
