Crocosmia are bulbous perennials which flower in summer, they have beautiful long sword-like leaves which give great texture and height to the border and then produce long stems of freesia like flowers, George Davison is an older bred cultivar (1902) and still a much cherished variety with pretty sunny yellow flowers. Plant Crocosmia in a free draining soil that is not too dry, they prefer full sun but will take a little part shade.
